- Connect PLC is an agritech company founded on Nov 2018 by two entrepreneurs has created employment opportunity for 7 permanent employees and 25 field agents. Connect is focused on developing, customizing & adopting and commercializing different agricultural technologies that would solve smallholder farmers challenge, increase their productivity, minimize their harvest and postharvest lose, create different employment and business opportunities to the rural community and youth in particular. With this endeavor Connect has developed its first digital product to solve different challenges the agri-mechanization sector. Hello Erf is a digital platform developed by Connect with three main objectives 1) Increasing farmers access and use of mechanization technology 2) strengthen the mechanization hiring sector to create more job and business opportunity for the rural youth and 3) Make agricultural knowledge and information accessible to all. Connect works in partnership with different local and international institutions such as MoA, EIAR, ATI, GIZ, IFDC/2SCALE, Milken Institute, CIAT and Sprout to mention few. Currently, the company is serving smallholder farmers and mechanization service providers through Hello Erf digital platform. So far it has served more than 1100 farmers and 60 mechanization service providers.
