- Coscharis Farms Limited (“CFL”) is a subsidiary of Coscharis Group that commenced farm development activities in mid-2015. Coscharis Farms’ current investment in the agricultural sector is a comprehensive rice value chain encompassing rice cultivation, milling, storage and marketing. Coscharis own farm currently covers 2,500ha of land (with plans to expand to 5,000ha). The Company intends to secure an additional 1,000ha of adjacent land for the in-grower scheme. In 2019, Coscharis built and commissioned a 40,000MT rice mill, together with a 25,000MT silo complex for storage. The silo is managed through a 10-year concession from the Federal government of Nigeria. The vison of the company is to become a benchmark for integrated Agric business in Nigeria by being the most efficient, cost-effective, fast-growing producer, marketer and distributor of superior quality rice in Nigeria. To achieve its vision and mission Coscharis will have to resolve the challenges facing the utilization of the rice mill by strategically supporting SHF’s using block farming model and the expanding to key paddy producing states in southern part of Nigeria. This will help the business to reduce the cost of transporting paddy from far northern Nigeria to the rice mill.
